If your students are struggling with getting their writing started during Guided Reading, I will share ways to support Early Readers and Transitional Readers that will hopefully encourage them to get their thoughts on paper. Student samples will be shared of what my current third graders' writing looks like, and what methods of teaching I use to support them so that they write with confidence. Many prompt questions are inspired by Jan Richardson, others tie into our current curriculum.
I currently teach third grade bilingual at Nancy Hill. I enjoy creating engaging lessons that encourage cooperative learning and create a sense of community.
